Personal message from John to his family:
Thank you for featuring me as the Hero of the Month in the Yellow Ribbon website.
"I would like to thank my mom and dad for their love and support throughout my career in the U.
S. Navy. Although my mom unfortunately passed away last December from cancer I know that
she would have been proud to see me wear the uniform of a Chief Petty Officer. I know that
she is looking down on me with a smile on her face, and I have her to thank for raising me to
be the person that I am today."
